Business and Communication Systems
Course Content
The BCS GCSE course provides students with the opportunity to study modern business activity, investigating how ICT has changed the business environment. You will have the opportunity to develop valuable, practical ICT skills becoming more confident in all Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher.
You will also develop knowledge of Business and ICT issues in the workplace. This will include topics such as:
- The Business Environment
- Workplace Organisation
- Human Resources
- Communication
- ICT in the Business Environment
- Computer Applications in the Business Environment

This course helps students develop practical ICT skills and business knowledge that are useful in a diverse range of employment roles. As ICT is becoming a vital part of many careers, this course helps pupils to keep up to date with skills demanded in many industries. It also prepares students for studying business and ICT at a more advanced level and would benefit those students considering starting their own business.
